RCU's 78th presentation of Handel's Messiah - A Rockford Thanksgiving tradition first sung by the Rockford Lutheran Choral Union in 1945 to welcome home WWII troops. The "Messiah" was composed by Handel in 1741, and is one of the most performed classical works. It covers the life of Christ from His prophesy to His Resurrection Handel wrote only text from the King James Bible
