And as God leads us, He sometimes makes us lie down (metaphorically), just like a shepherd would make his sheep lie down. Why? Because He’s able to give us things when we’re still and “lying down” that we won’t be able to receive when we’re standing up and moving along in our daily lives. Pastor James Ford Jr. has been the senior pastor of Christ Bible Church of Chicago, located on the south side of Chicago, Ill., for over 35 years. He also serves as the president of Impact Ministries, an outreach ministry committed to strengthening families in the South Shore community of Chicago.
