The American church is in decline. Ministry leaders and Christians are rightly concerned about downward trend. Longtime Christian journalist, researcher, and ministry leader Rick Lawrence believes that the driving force propelling the church into irrelevance is its propensity to reduce Jesus. In Editing Jesus: Confronting the Distorted Faith of the American Church, Lawrence explores how the contemporary church has edited Jesus to fit a self-centered culture; ultimately spreading a twisted version of Christianity.
2: Reducing the Coarseness of Our Culture
Gary Schneeberger discusses Focus on the Family President Jim Daly's statement following the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. Jim encourages and admonishes all Americans to stop the fighting and name-calling and bring greater civility to their advocacy in the public square. Matthew 5:9: "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." It's a call to not just think differently, but to act differently; especially with those who disagree with us - about anything.
