Chris Fabry LiveWhat you think is true is reel. What really is true is real. What our eyes see physically and what our thoughts tell us can seem so real. But there’s a deeper truth that our physical eyes and subconscious beliefs cannot see. Only the eyes of our heart can see what is truly real.
In other words, much of what we think is true – is a lie.
Jody Hoffman, coach with Identity Exchange, shares that when her husband, Buddy went to be with Jesus she found herself “alone.” That is what her eyes could see.
God showed her a deeper truth – that she never was and never would be alone. She was WITH. With the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Also, in this episode Shawna challenges us to partner with God in being transformed rather than running from concert to conference to retreat hoping to get zapped by the Holy Spirit.
And last Perry was asked recently “How’re ya doing?” And he’s been going through a season of struggle so naturally he said, “I’m fine.” It’s a conversation about how we’re uncomfortable being human.
Jody has spent more than 44 years in ministry with her husband, Buddy Hoffman, starting 8 churches that became a family of churches and doing missions in 40+ countries. When she learned her true identity, “Restorer of Beauty”, her ministry and passion for helping others were ignited on a whole new level.
“The most transformative thing you can know,” says Jody, “Is who you are and what you were meant to do.” And you can! Jody has a passion for helping people understand their true identity from God so they’ll realize who they are, all they have, and what they are uniquely called to do.
In February 2017, Jody’s husband passed away suddenly. The grief has been difficult but incredibly sweet, as she has learned the beauty of God truly being “with” her. If she had not known how to hear God, she would not have been prepared to navigate life without her beloved husband.
Jody has worked as an Interior Designer since 1990, creating moments and spaces to help others connect with their ‘heart interiors’. When she’s not designing for clients, you’re likely to find her on the courts playing or teaching pickleball!
Perry LaHaie's passion is to know Jesus and make Him known. “I’m all in with Jesus but not all put together. I need Jesus right now as much as I did when I first started following Him!” Perry says. In addition to co-hosting Perry and Shawna Mornings, Perry is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, and advocate for those who haven’t yet heard the gospel, especially those in the Muslim world. Born and raised in northern Michigan, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a graduate degree in Cross- cultural Communications. Perry also serves with Frontiers, a worldwide ministry to Muslims. Perry and his bride, Teresa, call Holland, Michigan home. They have two adult children, Kali and Taylor, and Taylor’s bride, Bri.
Shawna Beyer has a way of telling stories that create personal connection— to her, to one another, and to God. She has been a homeschool mom, church planter, project lead for a consulting company, and church staff member. Though she’s been involved in ministry with her husband (Dan) in Iowa, Arizona, and now Michigan, she was born and raised in Southern California and as they say, “You can take the girl out of California . . .” She is mom to four grown kids (Bryn, Drayson, Eden, and Haven) who no longer need her but humor her anyway. Shawna is passionate about the rhythms we weave into the fabric of our lives to fall more in love with God each day. Healthy foods are her go-to, but she will abandon that whole track in a heartbeat for a homemade cinnamon roll like Grandma used to make.
