“Why Can’t I Change?”
Following Jesus is not a silver bullet that instantly delivers us from the guilt, shame, and the magnetic pull of sin. But following Jesus is the start! And it’s the only path to experiencing any kind of freedom from the sins that want to pull us under never to come up again.
Davis Moore, author and pastor of Corner Bible Church in Allegan, MI joins the team to talk about the journey to being changed through the power of Jesus and his gospel. And guess what? It takes some heart surgery!
If you’re still crippled by sin and you feel like the gospel isn’t working for you. If you have little hope of ever changing or have given up completely, this conversation is for you. Perry and Davis share vulnerably how hard it is to change but that the gospel really is the power of God for inside out transformation.

Davis Moore
Davis Moore was born in a small town in West Michigan. He received a love for storytelling from his parents who both relentlessly told him and his brother stories throughout their childhood.
Currently, Davis is the teaching pastor at Corner Bible Church in Allegan, Michigan, where he has served for the last seven years. Davis is a storyteller from the stage, passionately communicating the gospel to his congregation. Davis’s passion is for people to encounter the identity changing nature of the gospel and helping people live that identity out in their daily lives.
Davis married his high school sweetheart, Amanda. Currently, they live in Allegan, Michigan, with their dog, Nala.

Perry LaHaie
Perry LaHaie's passion is to know Jesus and make Him known. “I’m all in with Jesus but not all put together. I need Jesus right now as much as I did when I first started following Him!” Perry says. In addition to co-hosting Perry and Shawna Mornings, Perry is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, and advocate for those who haven’t yet heard the gospel, especially those in the Muslim world. Born and raised in northern Michigan, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a graduate degree in Cross- cultural Communications. Perry also serves with Frontiers, a worldwide ministry to Muslims. Perry and his bride, Teresa, call Holland, Michigan home. They have two adult children, Kali and Taylor, and Taylor’s bride, Bri.
Shawna Beyer
Shawna Beyer has a way of telling stories that create personal connection— to her, to one another, and to God. She has been a homeschool mom, church planter, project lead for a consulting company, and church staff member. Though she’s been involved in ministry with her husband (Dan) in Iowa, Arizona, and now Michigan, she was born and raised in Southern California and as they say, “You can take the girl out of California . . .” She is mom to four grown kids (Bryn, Drayson, Eden, and Haven) who no longer need her but humor her anyway. Shawna is passionate about the rhythms we weave into the fabric of our lives to fall more in love with God each day. Healthy foods are her go-to, but she will abandon that whole track in a heartbeat for a homemade cinnamon roll like Grandma used to make.
