Tuesday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Josh Bramos, Worship Pastor at City Rev Church joins us to talk about their new worship song, Awestruck. Josh shares that "awestruck" is one of the characteristics of a disciple of Jesus Christ. He and his worship team wrote this song because they teach their church to never forget their rescue, to be awestruck, and then be mobilized. A key line in the song is "Oh, how my worship is so different when I listen". Josh asks, "Why is listening to the voice of God so important to one who is awestruck?
I’ve been a songwriter for the past 15 years. My dream is to encourage worship leaders to write for the local church — and Village Hymns was birthed from that idea. I believe God desires worship leaders to write for his church. People publicly declare things with their mouths in front of God and man when they sing — when they do that, they’re accountable for their words. In corporate worship, God writes His Gospel on the hearts of men and women in many ways.I’ve been writing songs for the church for many years with the hope of heart and mind transformation for the Church. I write multiple times a week when my kids go to bed and believe songwriting is an important tool for God’s work in the church.
