Cook, our devotional author for July's TITW tells us that as we begin our study of the second half of the book of Genesis, we meet Isaac’s son Jacob, a man who would learn a lot about waiting upon the Lord. Is there some area of your life where you are being required to wait? How has God worked during times of waiting in your past? As we start this month’s study, we ask You, Lord, to increase our faith in Your promises and to instill in us patience to wait for their fulfillment. What a joy it is to know that Your timing is perfect.

Each July we celebrate our freedom as a country and as individuals. As we consider the blessings of freedom, it is an excellent time to reflect on the history of our nation. On Independence Day, Paul Batura VP of Communications at FOTF joins us to talk about a popular growing debate--were our founding fathers Christian and is America founded on Christian principles? Understanding the history of our nation and its founders is vital knowledge that can translate to our daily life, and this history is important as we approach this upcoming holiday.
Hour 3: Something To Stand For Movie - with Jonathan Coussens
Thursday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, director, writer, and producer, Jonathan Coussens joins us to talk about the upcoming movie in theaters on June 27, Something To Stand For. From the legendary rebels we call the "Founding Fathers' to unknown Marines of Iwo Jima--these are the Americans who risked everything to build the country we love and call home. Mike Rowe, one of America's favorite storytellers will now tell the untold stories of America's heroes as the USA gets ready to celebrate the 4th of July and remember "the good ol days."

Ryan J. Cook
Dr. Ryan Cook has taught at Moody Bible Institute since 2012. He earned his bachelor of arts in Bible and Theology from Moody and his master of arts in Old Testament from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He has worked in Christian education and served as a pastor in Michigan for seven years. During his time as a professor at Moody, he earned his doctorate from Asbury Theological Seminary. He now lives with his wife, Ashley, and their three children in the Chicagoland area.
Paul Batura
Paul Batura is vice president of communications for Focus on the Family. In his role, Batura is responsible for media and guest relations. With more than two decades of diverse experience in the news media, broadcast journalism, publishing, and non-profit administration, Batura has been with Focus on the Family since 1998. Batura and his wife, Julie, had the privilege of adopting their three young boys, Riley, Will and Alex. They join countless other families in celebrating the courageous decision of birthmothers and birthfathers who choose life.
Jonathan Coussens
Jonathan Coussens is an award-winning commercial director, writer, and producer. His move into television work involved directing several series, where he naturally gravitated towards exploring themes of history and family, themes that deeply align with both his personal values and professional vision. Now at 38, Jonathan is embarking on a new chapter with his film directorial debut, "Something to Stand For." Off the set, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his Norwegian wife and two sons, often relaxing with a glass of sweet tea on their patio in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
