The practice and art of fatherhood is becoming lost in our culture. With over 17.8 million children living without a biological, step or adoptive father in the home, there has never been a more crucial time for the Church to intervene and address this issue head on. Tuesday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, founder of Fathers in the Field, John Smithbaker shares how his ministry seeks to impact the lives of fatherless boys and helps Christian men pursue their God ordained roles.

John Smithbaker
Even before he was born, the conditions for John Smithbaker’s ministry training began. While still in his mother’s womb, John’s biological father abandoned their family and left them to fend for themselves. Many years later--- after his miraculous Christian faith conversion, John was called by the Lord to abandon his worldly pursuits and the comforts and fruits of being a successful CEO in business to become a full-time missionary. God commissioned John to become a national advocate for precious fatherless boys who have no voice and gave him a unique vision to develop and launch the life-impacting ministry of Fathers in the Field. The ministry’s mission is to go boldly into the fields of the fatherless to bring God’s redemptive love to boys and men across America.
Hormoz Shariat
Dr. Hormoz Shariat is the founder and president of Iran Alive Ministries (IAM), a Christian ministry that uses satellite broadcasting and the internet to reach Iranians with the gospel. He is an Iranian Muslim convert who has a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southern California and a BA in Bible and Theology from Jessup University. Dr. Shariat has been featured in Christianity Today, Charisma, and other publications. He has also been a guest on various radio and TV stations, such as the 700 Club, TBN, Daystar and the Inspiration Channel. IAM is a growing ministry that is making a significant impact in Iran. Dr. Shariat is a passionate leader who is committed to sharing the gospel with the people of Iran.
