On Friday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Pastor and teacher, Mike Fabarez diagnoses the problem of the pervasive sin of envy. He brings the reader to biblical stories with often-overlooked ties to envy that expose and demonstrate the seriousness and harm caused by our unexamined motives. When envy is allowed to reside unchecked in our hearts, there are internal, relational, and societal costs. This book explores biblical ways to shore up our hearts and minds and close the gaps that leave us vulnerable to envy's temptations.
Hour 3: Unsung Hero the Movie - with Helen Smallbone
Friday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Helen Smallbone joins us to talk about today's release of the movie, Unsung Hero. This movie is titled from a song that sons' Joel and Luke Smallbone (For King + Country) dedicated to their parents, David and Helen, and the biographical story follows the Smallbone family's immigration from Australia to the United States.

Kathy Koch
DR. KATHY KOCH (“COOK”) is the Founder of Celebrate Kids. She has influenced thousands of parents, teachers, and children in over 25 countries through keynote messages, seminars, chapels, and other events. She regularly speaks for Care Net, Summit Ministries, the Colson Center, and Teach Them Diligently. Kirk Cameron chose her as an expert in two recent documentaries and she is also a popular guest on Focus on the Family radio and other radio talk shows and podcasts. Dr. Kathy earned a PhD in reading and educational psychology from Purdue University and served as an associate professor, school board member, teacher, and coach all before founding her ministry. She has loved Jesus for years and her faith and desire to serve and glorify God is the foundation of her ministry.
Mike Fabarez
Dr. Mike Fabarez is the founding pastor of Compass Bible Church and the president of Compass Bible Institute, both located in Aliso Viejo, California. Pastor Mike is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute, Talbot School of Theology, and Westminster Theological Seminary in California. Mike is heard on hundreds of stations on the Focal Point radio program. He has authored several books, including 10 Mistakes People Make About Heaven, Hell, and the Afterlife; Raising Men Not Boys; Lifelines for Tough Times; and Preaching That Changes Lives. Mike and his wife, Carlynn, are parents of three grown children, two sons and one daughter, and have four young grandchildren.
Helen Smallbone
Helen Smallbone grew up in Australia as the daughter of a Methodist minister and the youngest of four children. Even though she grew up in church, her faith became real in her mid-teens when she committed her life to Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade in Sydney. In 1991 Helen and her husband, David, packed up their family and sixteen suitcases to move from Australia to the United States. Completely isolated from the support of family and friends, they relied on God to provide them with hope and direction. Now a mother to seven―five boys, bookended with girls―and grandmother to thirteen, she currently lives outside of Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, David, and a small menagerie of animals
