Thursday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, we will welcome Lt. Gen. Dick Newton, who will be the featured speaker at the May 9 event from 7-9 a.m. at the Hilton Airport Palm Beach in West Palm Beach. Ltg. Newton will share details about his life as a Retired 3-Star General, and it will be an encouraging and inspiring message for all to hear.

Lt. General Dick Newton was a command pilot with nearly 3000 flying hours. Earlier in his career he commanded Minot Air Force Base and the 5th Bomb Wing in North Dakota and the nation's first B-2 Stealth bomber squadron. Among his previous positions as a General Officer, Newton served as the Director, Plans and Policy, U.S. Strategic Command.
Scott Carr was named Florida International University’s athletic director on Dec. 1, 2021. Carr boasts 25-years of experience in intercollegiate athletics and arrived at FIU following a stint at the University of Central Florida, where he served as deputy and interim athletic director. Prior to arriving at UCF, Carr served as senior associate athletic director for external affairs at Auburn University. He earned his undergraduate degree in business management from the University of Florida in 1995 and he earned his master’s degree in sports management from Florida in 1997. Carr is married to his wife, Pam, two daughters, Ashton and Katie, and one granddaughter, Kylie.
