Faith & Finance LiveThanksgiving on Good Friday is a special outreach to the unhoused in our community. Not only do they receive a great meal, but hygiene kits, free cloths, and easter baskets for kids will be provided. On Friday's Mornings with Eric and Brigitte we'll find out about this outreach and others like it from The Caring Place's Lian Navarro.
Friday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Mario Nicoleau, Executive Director of Food For The Poor-Haiti joins us to talk about how their organization is closely monitoring the rapidly changing situation in Haiti and is poised to respond to the crisis while simultaneously preparing for a comprehensive long-term recovery strategy. The United Nations estimates that nearly half of Haiti's 11 million people need immediate assistance.
Mario Nicoleau was appointed Executive Director of Food For The Poor-Haiti in April 2022. An engineer by profession, Nicoleau grew up in Haiti and obtained his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Florida International University in Miami. Nicoleau worked in the United States and subsequently in Haiti, where he served as vice president and later as president of his family’s construction business and eventually held a position at the U.S. Agency for International Development. FFTP-Haiti, an affiliate of Coconut Creek, Fla.-based FFTP, maintains a staff of nearly 400 people from Haiti and two warehouses. Nicoleau is a radio control hobbyist and frequently travels with his drones while visiting the many projects Food For The Poor implements throughout Haiti.
