Parenting children with special needs can have special challenges. But it can also teach us lessons about how unexpected hardships can bring us pure joy. Trillia Newbell talks with Pastor Russ Ewell about the lessons his two children with special needs have taught him and how raising them has made him into the man he is today.
Russ Ewell is Executive Minister of the Bay Area Christian Church. A minister for more than 40 years, Russ’s teaching is rooted in providing hope for those turned off by tradition, and infused with vision for building the transformative church for which the 21st century public hungers. Russ and his wife are the parents of two sons with special needs. Their experience has helped transform their ministry to care for people with special needs and their families.

When she isn’t writing, she’s encouraging and supporting other writers as the Acquisitions Director at Moody Publishers. Trillia is married to her best friend, Thern, they reside with their two children near Nashville, TN where they enjoy hiking and eating lots of bbq.
