His academic work focuses on the intersection of theological interpretation, theological ethics, and economic justice. Previously, he was the Director of Community Transformation at the Memphis College of Urban and Theological Studies, and the Director of Education at Advance Memphis, where he oversaw job training, financial literacy, GED tutoring, and entrepreneurship support in his south Memphis neighborhood.
