The world tells us to live free from God’s laws and ways. But when we try to walk alone, our spiritual vitality wanes, distorting our perception of God’s character and abilities. Pastor Ronnie Floyd has witnessed firsthand the profound transformation that prayer and fasting can achieve. He joins us today to explore how these sacred spiritual practices revive your faith and open your heart to encounter God.
This hour we wing our way down under to catch up with our favorite Scottish apologist as he offers his views, from a biblical perspective, on some of the stories making headlines. From climate change to the King of England’s Christmas address, David Robertson will weigh in with his thoughts. He will show us how to think critically and biblically as we engage with the world around us.
Dr. Floyd served as the Senior Pastor of Cross Church from 1986-2019 and serves in a non-staff role as honorary Pastor Emeritus. During his tenure, the church exploded in growth and became a large multi-campus church with over twenty thousand members. With three major campuses in the region, the church is still impacting major corporations that have their global headquarters in the region: Walmart, JB Hunt, Tyson Foods, and the University of Arkansas. As a speaker, author, and former president of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, Dr. Floyd has led across denominations and ministries. He was elected in 2014 to 2016 to serve as the President of the Southern Baptist Convention. Then, in the spring of 2019 through 2021, Floyd served as the President and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee. Today, he speaks, writes, consults for organizations, and coaches leaders. He received his bachelor’s degree from Howard Payne University and his master’s and doctoral degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also received The Distinguished Alumni Award from each of these educational institutions.
