The story of the black experience in America is not limited to the accounts of oppression during the days of slavery. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we once again spoke to a man whose life has been marked by his passion for civil rights and the desire to see the stories of these resilient people shared and retold as encouragement and motivation to those who see themselves as less than in our society. He shared how their strength and perseverance against seemingly insurmountable odds can be a model for restoration and progress in America today and why radical grace must be an essential element in that transformation. In practical terms how do we speak the often uncomfortable truth of the Gospel those who are actively resistant while still showing genuine love? It is not a simple proposition. But our guest helped clear away the fog with some clear, biblically sound guidelines to help us understand how to speak the truth in love and why humility is an essential element is these conversations. He also prepared us for the inevitable times of rejection we will face and how to handle those with grace. A respected bible teacher and expert on the Holy Land joined us for a timely conversation on the roots of the conflict now consuming the Middle East. He explained God’s covenant with the Jewish people, why this people has faced rejection and discrimination throughout human history and how the events of history are playing a dramatic and direct role in the conflict today. Where do you turn when it seems like everything around you is falling apart and your human resources are just not enough? Our guest shared his own moving story as a teaching tool to help us understand what it looks like practically to find your strength and hope in the faithful promises and character of God. As we close out this week you are invited to join us for another challenging discussion on the headlines of the week and how to understand them through the lens of scripture.
It has been 1 year since the October 7th, 2023 attack on Israel and the start of the Gaza war. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we honored that anniversary with updates on the where the fighting stands today, a look at remembrance services around the nation including Washington D.C. and two very important conversation about the efforts to protect the lives of the preborn in Israel and what is being done to help the victims of the tragedy move forward with dignity and hope. Burnout, even the sound of the word sounds painful! How do we in our increasingly demanding and busy lives manage our emotional energy well and if we do we hit that wall what can we do to recover? Our guest shared personal stories to help us understand what stress and burnout are really all about and then gave us a formula to help bring restoration and get our lives back on track. Janet and her guests tackled two hot button issues that should be on the minds of all believers: abortion and the election. In conversations with 2 experts she discussed a report that claims there have been more maternal deaths in Texas since the passage of Roe V. Wade and other pro-life laws. Then the conversation shifted to the November elections and the most important issues to Christians headed into the elections and why so many Christians are expected are not expected to enter into the voting booth. We punched your ticked for another radio flight to the land down under as we sat down for another informative conversation with our favorite Scottish apologist. He shared his thoughts on preaching for profit & how to know that your salvation is secured. Once again we encourage you to step into our radio classroom as our favorite husband and wife teaching team continue to show us how to use the straight stick of God’s truth to measure and understand the never ending onslaught of news and information that invade our lives daily.
