Hour 2: Law and Liberty
We start this hour by looking at some stories making headlines before moving into a conversation regarding religious liberty. A federal judge has granted a Class Action to some students alleging coercion in religious rituals in Chicago Public Schools. We will fill you in on the details. Then, we will discuss the coming electrical power shortage, the call for a global ban on meat and dairy consumption, fears that having children and even breathing are contributing to climate change, EPA regulations on heavy trucks, and signs of the coming green breakdown. Abdu Murray
Abdu Murray is the President of Embrace The Truth ministry. He offers the credibility of the gospel message as a speaker and writer with Embrace the Truth. He has authored several books including Saving Truth, Grand Central Question, Apocalypse Later, and his latest book, More than a White Man’s Religion. For most of his life, Abdu was a proud Muslim until a nine-year historical, philosophical, theological, and scientific investigation pointed him to the Christian faith. Abdu has spoken to diverse international audiences and has participated in debates and dialogues across the globe. Abdu holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School.
John Mauck
John Mauck, a founding partner of Mauck & Baker, has been an attorney for over 40 years, representing many churches and ministries in Chicago and across the nation to provide religious land use in illegally restricted areas. His work drafting the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA), which became federal law in 2000, has helped congregations across the country freely worship.
Steve Goreham
Steve Goreham is Executive Director of the Climate Science Coalition of America and author of four books on energy, climate change, and sustainable development, with over 100,000 copies in print. Steve’s new book, Green Breakdown: The Coming Renewable Energy Failure, came out August 1 of last year. Steve holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a speaker, author, and researcher on environmental issues, energy, and public policy. He’s a frequently invited guest on radio and television as well as a free-lance writer.
