Hour 2: Grounded In The Truth

The Bible makes it very clear that the tongue has a dangerous power in our lives and the lives of others. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we talked about the power and impact of words both spoken and in the digital world. A respected family and childcare expert and a friend to this program, addressed the importance of getting kids off social media and engaging in real conversations. She emphasized the importance of community interactions in the real world and the damaging impact of hurtful words, especially through the anonymity of the internet. Apologetics took center stage this week as we looked at a dozen vital truths that are foundational to the Christian faith. Not only did we examine these truths we addressed how parents and leaders pass these foundational markers from one generation of believers to the next. It was clear that this job requires much more than lip service but role modeling that can be seen and imitated so that young believers understand what a 24 /7 Christian life REALLY looks like. We encouraged your continued prayers for the greatest group of influencers in our world today: the entertainment industry. Our favorite Hollywood missionary shared the faith stories of some of the most respected actors in Hollywood today and ask you to join in the prayers for both the upcoming faith breakfast and marriage week events. It almost seems like science fiction but sadly it is not, there is an increased push and acceptance of assisted suicide in our nation and around the world. We talked to a friend of the program who has been on the forefront of issuing warning about the changes in thought regarding issues like this over the years. He told us about the effort to encourage people to starve themselves to be eligible for euthanasia, organ harvesting from those who have lost their lives and the lie that pregnancy can be compared to having an illness like the measles. Once again we gave you the opportunity to get answers to some of your most challenging Bible questions from our respected and firmly grounded Bible teacher.
