Hour 1: The Meaning of Hanukah
Hanukkah (which means 'to dedicate'), known as the Feast of Dedication or the Festival of Lights, is mentioned in John 10:22. Hanukkah is an eight-day Jewish holiday that celebrates the rededication of Jerusalem's temple in 164 B.C. and this celebration is starting this week. Our guest will help us better understand its meaning to our Jewish friends and how it may point to Jesus.
Hour 2: The Unseen Battle
Today we open the phone lines and answer your questions on spiritual warfare. Does the Devil read our thoughts? When a demon is cast out, is he destroyed or does he move to bother someone else? David Brickner
David Brickner, Executive Director of Jews for Jesus, heads up the largest Jewish evangelistic mission in the world. He is a fifth generation Jewish believer in Jesus and it was through the ministry of Jews for Jesus that David rededicated his life to the Lord. Brickner is a popular church and conference speaker and has authored Christ in the Feast of Pentecost and Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles with Moody Publishers as well as Future Hope: A Jewish Christian Look at the End of the World with Purple Pomegranate. He also writes a monthly online column, Jews for Jesus Real Time and has appeared on Larry King Live.
Dr. Karl Payne
Dr. Karl Payne is a pastor, teacher, speaker, author and former NFL chaplain. He is currently on staff at Antioch Bible Church of Redmond, WA. where his primary role is serving as the Pastor of Leadership Development and Discipleship Training. He served as the chaplain for the Seattle Seahawks football team from 1994-2015. Dr. Payne is the author of the 3 books discipleship series Transferable Cross Training Volumes 1-3. He co-authored A Just Defense (1987) and Cross Training (1993). He also contributed to two reference books, The Encyclopedia of Biblical Christian Ethics and The Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics. His own book, Spiritual Warfare: Christians, Demonization and Deliverance (2011) continues to be a popular reference of the topic of spiritual warfare.
