Many youth ministries today produce polite, obedient kids who behave themselves, but may leave the church and their faith later on. Even if they stay in church, some of their lives and decisions may not reflect that. Ed Stetzer talks with Kara Powell about how we can change that trajectory and better serve the needs of this new generation we're raising up, to make them real lifelong disciples of Christ.
Kara Powell, is the chief of leadership formation and executive director of the Fuller Youth Institute at Fuller Theological Seminary. Named by Christianity Today as one of "50 Women to Watch," Kara serves as a youth and family strategist for Orange and speaks regularly at parenting and leadership conferences. Kara has authored or coauthored numerous books, including "Faith Beyond Youth Group: Five Ways to Form Character and Cultivate Lifelong Discipleship".
Ed Stetzer, Ph.D., is Dean of the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University. He has planted, revitalized, and pastored churches; trained pastors and church planters on six continents; earned two master’s degrees and two doctorates; and he has written hundreds of articles and a dozen books. He is Regional Director for Lausanne North America, is the Editor-in-Chief of Outreach Magazine, and regularly writes for news outlets such as USA Today and CNN. He serves at his local church, Mariners Church, as a teaching pastor. Ed and his wife Donna have been married for more than 35 years and are the parents of three daughters.
