Roy Patterson is Community Relations Director at Moody Bible Institute and host of Music for Sunday and Urban Praise. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Trinity International University and is heard on Moody Radio. He is also a preacher, praise and worship leader and vocalist. Roy has served as a youth leader, senior pastor, and a substance abuse counselor. Roy has been married to his wife, Lynette, for over 40 years, and they have three adult children and three amazing grandchildren.
Michael Allen is co-founder & co-CEO of Together Chicago. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and immigrated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his family in 1977. In 1986 he became a naturalized U.S. citizen. Early in his professional career, Michael was called into ministry under the leadership of Dr. O.S. Hawkins, First Baptist Church – Ft. Lauderdale (1989). In 1997, Michael served as Assistant Pastor of Urban Outreach and Evangelism at The Moody Church in Chicago, IL . Michael also served as the Associate Pastor at Sagemont Church in Houston, TX (2002) and most recently as the Senior Pastor at Uptown Baptist Church. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the board of the Pacific Garden Mission. Michael holds a Masters in Divinity from Trinity International University, a Bachelors of Arts in Biblical Studies from Trinity College – Miami, FL, and an Associates in Computer Electronics. Michael is married to Marilza from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and they have 4 children.
Jonathan Banks is Chief Operating Officer of Together Chicago. He actively serves his church and community and strives to help others reach their God-given potential in every area of life. Jonathan earned an undergraduate degree in engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University. Jonathan is a passionate leader and educator who serves his church and community in Illinois where he resides with his wife, Jacinta, and their teenage sons.
Dr. Carol Y. Collum is founder and executive director of True Believers Community Connections and Stay L.I.T. (Living In Truth). She is a community educator and organizer, an education and business consultant, mentor, and an author who takes pride in empowering clients through education and training as a leadership development professional. True Believers Outreach Ministries is her personal ministry that was established in 2008. It reflects her heartfelt desire to be an example of the believer in all things. One of her most profound accomplishments was in 2013, which was the establishment of True Believers Community Connections. It is a non-profit organization that addresses issues, crisis, and needs of individuals and families whether local or abroad. Through this commission, Dr. Collum walks alongside returning citizens and other high-risk populations on their journey toward being restored and renewed after experiencing hopelessness. Dr. Collum possesses a doctoral degree in educational leadership, a master’s degree in educational leadership and organizational change, a master’s degree in social work, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
Yolanda Fields is the Executive Director of Breakthrough and a committed nonprofit and community leader. She started at Breakthrough as a volunteer in 2001 after seeking to make a positive impact following the events of September 11, 2001. Previously, Yolanda spent 10 years leading teams at a major telecommunications company. During her tenure at Breakthrough, Yolanda has led adult programs, which includes housing, homeless services, violence prevention, workforce development, behavioral health, and food access programs. She has walked alongside those experiencing homelessness and crisis, and her compassionate leadership has created a culture of dignity and respect for all. Yolanda resides on the West Side of Chicago and is also the Director of Women’s Ministry at New Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, located in East Garfield Park.
Chris Fabry is the host of Chris Fabry Live on Moody Radio and is the author of more than 80 books. He is a member of the Christy Award Hall of Fame for Christian Fiction. His latest release is Saving Grayson from Focus on the Family. He and his wife live near Tucson, AZ.
