Binge-watching is a relatively new term to describe the act of streaming many television episodes in one sitting. It’s become more and more popular these days with the myriad of streaming options available to consumers via their TV, laptop, tablet, or cell phone.
As great as these options sound, I often wonder how it’s affecting what I call the “inner man” diet. I’m not alone, as even health experts are sounding the alarm that as people replace time once spent exercising, socializing, or even sleeping, they’re increasing their risk for other health conditions and behavioral addictions.
What are you feeding your spirit and soul? If someone were to take an inventory of your life and how you allocate your time, what would they determine? It is true that whatever you devote the most time and energy to in your life will ultimately have the greatest victory over you. A lot of what we struggle with in life can be traced back to the decisions we made along the way—big and small.
If you’ve experienced God’s love in your own life, then you have the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit at your disposal to help guide your decision-making. When we intentionally seek to feed the Spirit and starve the flesh, we’ll begin to see and experience spiritual victory like never before in our lives.
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.” Ephesians 3:16-17
Author, speaker, pastor, counselor and my good friend, Dr. Gary Chapman, celebrated a special milestone recently, the 30th anniversary of his most popular title, The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts. This book has been a bestseller for years on various charts, including the New York Times , since 2007 and has sold over 20 million copies. Here at Moody Radio, Gary’s program, Building Relationships, has helped countless couples through the years, offering real-life family counseling each week on the program. I thank God for Gary’s life and how He’s used him and this resource to impact lives for the Kingdom. Happy Anniversary!
