Recent ethics concerns in the highest court are prompting lawmakers to look at imposing ethics rules on the Supreme Court. Dr. Mark Caleb Smith will help us look critically at the ethics discussions surrounding the Supreme Court and how these discussions teach us to live beyond reproach. Also, a growing discontent with both political parties is prompting a grassroots movement to depolarize elections. What will that mean for the election season and how could this potentially impact the status quo? Get a closer look at these two stories in the news with Dr. Mark Smith on Tuesday’s Ken and Deb in the Morning!

Ed Hedding
Ed Hedding is Senior Pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bettendorf. He is a graduate of Liberty University and has been in full time ministry since 1987. He loves his wife Diane and three grown children Joshua, Bethany, and Daniel and grandson Christopher Kime. In his spare time he enjoys running outside, golfing and reading. His favorite vacations are at the beach.
Dr. Mark Caleb Smith
Dr. Smith serves as Associate Professor of Political Science and the Director of the Center for Political Studies at Cedarville University. He teaches courses in American Politics, Constitutional Law, and Research Methodology/Data Analysis. Dr. Smith has authored numerous refereed journal articles, book chapters, and other publications. His primary research interest is in the field of religion and American politics. He received his B.A. in history from Bryan College (1992), an M.A. in the history of Christianity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (1995), and an M.A. (1997) and Ph.D. (2001) in political science from the University of Georgia. Before arriving at Cedarville in 2004, Dr. Smith taught at Tulane University and Calvin College.
