Hour 2: Total Solar Eclipse - with Dr. Steven Gollmer
On April 8, North America will experience its second total solar eclipse in seven years. The moon will glide over the surface of our sun, casting a shadow over a swath of Earth below. Friday on Mornings with Eric and Brigitte, Dr. Steven Gollmer, Senior Professor in Physics from Cedarville University joins us to talk about what to expect and will answer some of the following questions. How dark will it be during the eclipse? How can I watch the eclipse safely? What happens if I look at the eclipse without protection? Where are the best places to watch the eclipse? How long will the eclipse last, and how fast does it move? When was the last total solar eclipse in the U.S.?

Rachel G. Scott is a devoted wife, mother, and Ohio native. She holds a BSc from Kansas State and an MBA from the University of Mary. As founder of the I Can’t Come Down Movement, Bible teacher, and podcast host, she desires to inspire believers to walk in their purpose and assignment as they boldly take leaps of faith.
Steven Gollmer
Dr. Steven Gollmer, Ph.D., Senior Professor Physics has served on the faculty of Cedarville University since 1994. With degrees in physics and atmospheric science, he enjoys an interdisciplinary approach to research. This has led to such diverse subjects as systems biology, climate modeling, and origins studies. Preferring computer analysis over field work, he has experience using Monte Carlo simulations and analyzing large data sets. As an outgrowth of his study of faith and science integration, Dr. Gollmer teaches an honors course on origins. Dr. Gollmer is a member of the Creation Research Society, Creation Biology Society, American Geophysical Union, and the American Association of Physics Teachers.
Jon Gauger
For more than three decades, Jon Gauger has served with Moody Radio as a writer, producer, and host. He is rarely seen without a camera, shooting photos and video for Moody Radio and others. In addition to The Land and the Book, Jon is heard on Moody Presents, Today in the Word, the Praise and Worship Channel, and Majesty Radio.
